Things that make me smile.

Eek I re-read that last post part about other awesome news and realized that most definitely sounded baby-related.

Sorry to disappoint. I didn't magically come up pregnant. We haven't fixed our problems, we didn't win some "cycle until you succeed contest" (oh my, can you imagine if such a contest/program existed?). But, I think when there are major things in your life that are in disarray sometimes when other, less significant things fall into place you get overly excited about them, and that's probably what I did.

The mister booked a couple of very big shows in a very good location that make our upcoming trip much, much easier to afford/do. So yes, we are very excited!

And isn't is kismet that OKGo is playing in Brooklyn the night we arrive? And that I got tickets? And that now it's a sold out show (sold out in a few hours). And that they are also coming to our town here and yeah, I got tickets to that show too. I know I'm a shameless fangirl, I will make no apologies. If you haven't seen their latest video, please do take a look (4.7 million already have, so if you haven't you're a little behind). And I don't know why this matters but I loved them long before they were YouTube phenoms with their amazing videos. They had me at the first live show I saw, when they were relatively unknown but just amazing performers. Anyway, I digress.

So yes, things are falling into place that are small in the grand scheme of things, but they do indeed make me happy. And if elevating some of those things to an out of scale status helps keep me sane, then so be it.

  1. Yeah for great things to look forward to!! Way to go, Mr. Leebot!

    How crazy that you posted that video because they put it together not too far from where I live. One of my coworkers was an engineer on the set making the props and was just showing me this when it came out earlier this week explaining what he worked on, how they came up with some of the things they did, and what didn't quite work the way they planned but still managed to do the trick. One of the greatest feats for this video is that it was filmed all with one camera so the whole thing had to work - no piecing of parts together post shot. He said it was hilarious to try to watch the guys run around everything while they were filming to be able to get to their next spot without running in front of the camera. He said the band members are very cool and had lots of ideas for what they wanted in the video and changed a lot of stuff originally done by "Hollywood" set people because they thought it looked "too good" for the "anyone can do this" attitude they wanted to portray. He brought the lead singer's parents for a tour at our work this week...LOL. Oh and he said after all the takes they had to do he no longer likes this song. (-;

  5. Awesome about OK Go! I know you heart them! I love the video (they always have such good videos!) and love the comment from Lost in Space. Pretty cool all around. Hooray for Mr. LC! I think he deserves every penny he's paid and he's awfully talented so of course, he's gonna get great gigs! Hooray! Hooray!

  6. I think you like OKGO because they are wise young men disguised as musicians. :> That video was the perfect pairing w/ your last post - what we have isn't ever really ours to hold on to. Not even a kickass treadmill video or $80K or whatever. Not that you ever want to destroy things intentionally, but by god, sometimes you smash it w/ a hammer and you're done w/ it! And that can be beautiful, too. -Stacey

  12. LOVE this post. Not just because of the video or song (although they're good too). The energy in the post, the smile coming through warms my heart. I know there aren't rainbows springing up all over the place and jaunts in the park while you whistle....but still, reading these last entries was awesome.

  13. That video blew my mind. It reminds me of the game "mousetrap" we had as a kid!
    I'm so glad that Mr. LC is booking shows and that you guys are going back to your "second home" of NYC for a visit! (Or is it more of a "home away from home"?) Have an awesome trip!
    PS- I did indeed take that picture and have a "side business" doing photography! I love the craft of it. I think you and Mr. LC SHOULD have that picture done! I bet you could get some great air! (Otherwise, there's always photoshop! ha!)

  14. Oh I'm so happy Mr. LC got some good shows, that is really wonderful news! I'm also VERY jealous you guys are going to visit the best place on earth. Please eat tons of delicious food and then describe it in detail...here in South AL we have very few food choices...
